The Organ Grinder is the brainchild of brother and sister musicians, Dan Quigley and Paula Girvan. With its roots in the soul-jazz and hard bop tradition, The Organ Grinder fuses fresh musical ideas producing an innovative, pulsating, transient performance every time. The Organ Grinder has the unique line up of Hammond Organ, Trumpet, Drums and Guitar. The Organ Grinder performs original instrumental jazz tunes as well as the music of the cookin’ composers from the 1960’s. The energy generated by The Organ Grinder sweeps up in a rising tide of synergy as the musicians play off each other, creating new grooves, melodies and innovative sounds. Since the bands inception 2 years ago, The Organ Grinder has played memorable gigs at The Press Club, Rics Bar, Brisbane Jazz Club, Valley Jazz Festival and The Brisbane Festival (Spiegel tent).
