Sounds Like
All of the above, and none of the above. Indie pop, but never without that rock edge.
Formed officially in the spring of 2006, Theories began life as a group of university friends who tried (and mostly failed) to play music together. Through a mutual friend, Jay (bass) was introduced to Pete (drums), and the backbone of the future band was formed. With nobody brave enough to sing, Pete drafted in his housemate Phil (vocals, guitar) to take up vocal duties. With the other remaining two band members departing, Pete invited his friend Rick (guitar, b/vocals) to jam along. The band had finally found a solid line up, and after some debating (and bribing), everyone settled on the name ‘Theories’.
Unfortunately, before the band could do their first proper gig, Pete departed to work in New Zealand. Ditching the electrics for acoustics, the remains of the band decided to trawl through Leicester, playing various open mic nights until somebody noticed them. Luckily for them, someone did, and gave the band their first feature gigs to help them along. At the same time, through a mutual friend, drummer Will was recruited to reunite the four piece.
With a live four track demo (produced, recorded and mastered by Scott Lewis of The Tea Monkeys) and a growing base of fans (called Theorems) now under their belts, the band are eager to play their blend of modern, catchy indie pop to whoever’s willing to give them a listen.
