August marked the launch of the new footwear collaboration between Airwalk and street style icon jeffstaple. A collaboration worthy of the Past. Present. Now. launch party in the Big Apple.....jeffstaple’s back yard! OpenHouse Gallery in NYC was host to a one-night-only, full scale exhibition that took visitors through Airwalk’s history, from the nascent stages of skate culture back in the mid 1980’s, to today’s mash-up/street-culture-minded generation to the jeffstaple-designed STPLxAirwalk collection. The exhibit was a living time capsule of Airwalk that led guests through the origins of the brand in 1986, to the “NOW” STPLxAirwalk project – an important part of the brands future!
Over 400 guests including top bloggers and media to tastemakers and Airwalk fans came out to check out the exhibit, listen to beats by DJ Neil Armstrong and take a peak at the new footwear collection. Sponsors Pabst Blue Ribbon, 42 Below and TY KU handled the party spirits and the party went off!
