As one of the earliest and most successful acts signed to the Contagious Records label in the UK during the early 1990's, RELEASE stood out along with other well-known artists of the time as pioneers of the breakbeat hardcore scene that was to eventually evolve into drum & bass. Consisting of Nigel Broad and DJ Rush Puppie, the band's first single, 'Dance In Eden', became a classic anthem, played at raves and festivals all over the UK and Europe during the summer of 1992. After several remixes by Interface and Sy-Kick, the duo released the 'Spirit of Space' EP. Another success, this 4 track EP carried the duo into 1993. After parting ways with Contagious, Nigel and Rush Puppie hooked-up with Deep Seven Records to release another single - 'The Jungle' c/w 'Musical Movements', in late 1993.
After many years of limited availability on the second-hand market, all of the classic tracks from RELEASE are back, re-mastered and compiled onto a 2 CD set, titled 'The Spirit of Space' and released on LikeMinded Records. 17 tracks in all, including rare and previously unreleased tracks from ‘92/’93.
In collaboration with Ninety Two Retro in the UK, select tracks from 'The Spirit of Space' will be available as a limited edition vinyl double-pack, and a limited edition 4-track remix EP.
AUGUST 2009 - In collaboration with 7th Storey Projects, "The Jungle / Musical Movements", from 'The Spirit of Space', will soon be available on limited edition, heavyweight (180gram) vinyl. Pre-orders are being taken now, email seventhstoreyprojects@live.co.uk or go here for more info ...

God I (still) love that track!! For me 1992 was the golden years of hardcore and your track is up there with the best of them!
