Theory Of Relativity plays music from the past 50+ years - but always sounds fresh and new! Formed in 2006 on a whim, Theory Of Relativity came to being as a “family” band - a loose association of friends who had played together for literally decades - though never before in their current lineup… Their previous endeavors included such Northwest favorites as Blue Gin, The Redcoats, Sidekick and Doubleshot, ranging in styles from tribute shows (Elvis, Paul Revere & The Raiders) to classic rock to blues to country to jazz to originals to an occasional classical guitar interlude… Also as original material has been added by Jim Crutcher, a new aspect to the band is emerging. His songs have been favoribly compared to those of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and John Lennon. Some company indeed! Thank you so much, Jim, for the ongoing Wednesday open mike and jam sessions at Tigardville Station. The number of fine performers and songwriters who pass through every week is beginning to boggle my mind. And the friendly, convivial atmosphere shared by musicians and patrons alike is a delight.
The pre-New Years Eve Party last night was a blast.
When I added a Helen Keller quote to my last blog, I remember seeing this quote and thought to pass it along as I love it also;
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved."
It's brutal we should have to go through so much to build our character, but I do hope we can at least see some good come from it!
