About me: The Steamin' Billy Brewing Co was founded in 1995 when licensee Barry Lount together with Bill Allingham who at that time was brewing the Steamin' Billy beers for the Cow & Plough both took on a tie of the Vaults in Leicester, the company was formed to supply this and any other outlets, the beers were named after manageress of the Cow & Plough Charlotte Lounts Jack Russell dog.
The Vaults was to establish its self and the Steamin' Billy beers and become at the time Leicester's premium real ale house, Rhythm and Blues nights were also a feature at the Vaults with many top names appearing there.
So successful was the Vaults that Billy and Barry leased another pub, this time in Norfolk, the Robert Catesby a 16th century inn created from an old maltsters house, This again obtained good write ups from the press including one from Harvey Nichols of London.
Beer festivals and the med events were held at the Vaults.
