.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. THE PAIN "The Pain" was formed in the fall of 2004, in Los Angeles, California, and was originally called "Cabal Army". For years, I had been trying to form a band with my friend Jeremy("Clockwork", "Hateface") a bad ass virtually unknown singer from the valley. Finally in 2004, set up a jam with Kevin Heller, or "Keavy Metal",formerly of "Cholos on Acid", and "Jughead's Revenge", was a ripping drummer with a vision. We jammed for several months with different bass players, and after what felt like eons, parted ways after musical differences, and direction could not be worked out. Months passed, and even though Jeremy and I kept in touch, we were just about to throw in the towel. Enter RICO "Bulldozer Bass" Villasenor. (Manhole,Tura Satana,Drunk With Power,The Damaged Kids,Demean and most recently DOWNSET), respectively. So, I call Rico, who I had played with in "DWP", and told him about this project. His exact words were "Come on! That was it. I've said it many times, and I'll say it now. I will not play in a band unless Rico is in it. Period! He not only plays like a beast, but his sound is unique, and he brings a level of professionalism unsurpassed. He also understands my weird songwriting style, which throws everyone else off, as I do not write in normal time. Still we had no drummer. We had jammed with a couple dudes, tried out a few, and nothing stuck, so we call our old friend Marcelo Palomino. ("Dry Entry", "Manhole", Tura Satana", "My Ruin"). We jammed and decided to play a couple small shows. We were well received and had agreed to book some larger shows, however, Marcelo's Carpal tunnel had resurfaced, and made it impossible for him to play comfortably. Back to no drummer. After the first and only ad we put out looking for a drummer , We got one response !! Francisco Zumudio (Enrot, Tazumal,Evolutions end) was the last link to what we feel is a perfect band. At this point, "The Pain" is complete, and ready to "Rip it up!", as Little Richard would say. Our message is simple. We play hard, fast, thrashy, heavy, old school, punk, metal, bluesy, Stoner music that is our own, with conviction, and integrity. I think that's about all I can say. Sincerely, Axis (Guitars)
