On a lazy Melbourne Sunday afternoon in early 2004, five friends with a history of playing loud and heavy riff-driven, dirty rock n roll felt it was time to kick back with some single malt Irish Whiskey, turn down their amps and write some fresh, cruisin, bluesy, country tunes.
The result of that afternoon was The Palenecks.
Since then The Palenecks have played residencies at The Tote, The Town Hall Hotel and The Old Bar as well as gigs about town with bands like The Gin Club, Clinkerfield, The Vandas, James McCann and the Dirty Skirts, The Dacios, Little Boy Blue, and the late, great Ian Rilen.
