About me: The friendly, no-frills bar is one of the oldest and only lesbian nightclubs that has come into the 21st century and into the Obama age with an all inclusive style. Unlike many Los Angeles bars, The Palms doesn't offer a "Girl's Night," because every night is for the ladies, and everyone else in the community and beyond that are tolerant, respectful and loving of lesbians and their lifestyle. The Palms is open to all persuasions: gay, straight and otherwise. Come with equality in mind and with love and respect and you'll fit right in. The Palms mixes up the fun by offering a different scene and theme every night!
Still a West Hollywood staple after nearly 36 years, The Palms has weathered the storm of moody LA nightlife to endure as one of the trademark locales for the community. The casual bar offers an extremely laid-back atmosphere that allows women (and everyone else) from Harley bikers to commuting beach babes to convene in a comfortable and friendly environment. Historically, the bar has made a name for itself by attracting famous drop-ins from Ellen DeGeneres and Melissa Etheridge to even Jim Morrison. Weekly events are extensive at the Palms and have included the popular Sunday beer bust, Friday and Satuday-night dance events.
