About The Palookas :: Skarock from the Netherlands!

Put on your skanking shoes, The Palookas are here!! The Palookas exist since 2001 and played lots of shows in- and outside the Netherlands since then. They played twice at the Dutch Ska Festival (number one ska festival in The Netherlands) and shared the stage with lots of bands like The Toasters, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Mad Caddies, Mark Foggo’s Skasters and The Selecter.
They’ve recorded their third CD (Live!) on January 19th, 2007. All cd’s CD’s were received very well by the Dutch audience and press and got them lots of shows! The Live CD, called “Better Live than Never” is released by Boombax Music in 2007. In 2008 the Palookas signed an international record deal with Megalith Records.
The Palookas are ready to make Europe dance! Besides the many gigs in The Netherlands, The Palookas have toured through Europe in May and December 2007 and had several short trips to Belgium, Germany and Czech Republic! On this moment, the band is in the middle of producing a new cd in their own studio. Untill then; check them out!

Hier zijn The Palookas!! Zeven jonge goden die op het podium hun zelfbeheersing aan de kant schuiven. Moeders, houdt uw dochters dus in de gaten! Aanstekelijk als de eerste zomerse zonnestralen trekken ze al jaren als een wervelwind door stad en land om in alle zalen de boel op zijn kop te zetten en het publiek mee te zuigen in hun enthousiasme. Pas als je The Palookas gezien hebt, kun je tevreden sterven.
Trek je dansschoenen aan en bereid je voor op een flitsende show! Feest mee met The Palookas op hun energieke ska-rock. Zelfs de meest harkerige hork zal harken. Springende bandleden trekken aan je oog voorbij en hun statement is duidelijk: Iedereen moet en zal los gaan tijdens hun optreden.
The Palookas bestaan sinds eind 2001 en hebben sindsdien al de nodige aandacht gekregen. De muziek van The Palookas spreekt een breed publiek aan: Rockende nummers met de bekende ska offbeat. Meerdere malen stonden ze in een uitverkochte Melkweg, tweemaal op Neerlands grootste skafestival Dutchska, op het Bevrijdingsfestival te Wageningen en daarnaast op vele podia en festivals waar “de mannen” het dak er vanaf bliezen.
Begin 2007 nam de band een live album op, genaamd “Better Live than Never”. Deze knallende CD is gereleased door Boombax Music. In 2008 heeft de band een internationale platendeal getekend bij Megalith Records uit de Verenigde Staten. 2009 zal in het teken staan van een nieuw album, nog meer optredens en vooral nog meer plezier!
The Palookas staan te popelen om heel Europa over te nemen! Inmiddels heeft de band 2 zeer succesvolle EU-tours achter de rug en verschillende kortere buitenlandse trips. Regelmatig wordt de “skank” geoptimaliseerd in de zelfgebouwde studio, in een duistere kelder op een geheime locatie te Rotterdam. Het moge duidelijk zijn; mis deze band niet!

UGH! It's just that he picks the damnedest (I know it's not a word) times to take a nap. I am STARVING and I didn't plan on cooking because my dad gave us a gift certificate to go to Ruby Tuesday and we had plans to go. I tried to wake him up over an hour ago and he's still laying there. I'm moving on from annoyed to pissed off! anywayz, it went good. We got stuff for our wii. How was yours? know what sucks? that IM supposed to be the one that knows about "web-stuff" and your profile is better than mine? Maybe I should just let you take care of mine like mom does Dan's...ohh, that reminds me, speaking of mom; i finally got her to start taking those surveys online like i'm doing, cuz i know the extra money sure comes in handy. you should really try em. i mean, if i got mom to try it, psh, i can get anybody to, heh..i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is: www. surveyblings .com ... anyhow, I know we are both kinda like "woah" right now.
