| About The Parody |
THE PARODY ARE BACK!! With a new line up and a new sound. The Parody split up about two years ago after Will (former lead singer) abandoned them for vet college. At this point they were at a loss, what would they do without William Chandler. Anyway, they soon recovered when Samuel Chandler awoke his sleeping voice and humbly took up the reins as lead singer. At this point, he started playing acoustically around Brighton with Tom (former drummer) on djembe and b.v's. When people realised Will hadn't miraculously become a better singer overnight, but the older brother was singing instead, it dawned on them, that even without William they may yet have potential. Therefore, Sam and Tom decided to take their acoustic act to the next step and re-create The Parody.
However, a year of playing acoustically combined with Samuels very different vocal ability, resulted in a dramatic change of style. No longer are they a loud rock band with a grunge soaked guitars, but instead an acoustic band with pop, funk and reggae influences.
Their prolonged return is mainly due to losing one bass player and finding it nearly impossible to find another. However, John Chase soon saved the day when he joined the band at the end of last term. Since then, they finally recorded some songs together before feeling it was about time to let the world hear The Parody one more time.
