THE PAWNBROKERS - were formed in 1991 by RIC PROUDFOOT and JOHN PERGAL, the name is from the B.B.King Blues Classic. The band went through various changes since that time, adding GARTH ASMUSSEN on harmonica, STEVE DELICH, SEAN McGUIRE as the rhythm section.
Initially doing obscure covers,as well as classic blues, the band continued to move toward all originals. The Pawnbrokers cite as influences, Blues greats such as - Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Magic Sam, Junior Wells, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, Hollywood Fats and The T-Birds.
The Pawnbrokers have performed with such National Acts as Anson Funderburgh & Sam Meyers, James Cotton, John Hammond, The Nighthawks, Little Charlie & the Nightcats, Long John Hunter and Eddy Clearwater. The band is a past winner of the Pittsburgh Blues Challenge ------
