Influences
Influences? Lots of stuff. What's a better use of space? How about some bands that will make you believe in punk rock again. There are bands playing right now, today, out there in the world that will exhaust you with just how fucking great they are. Here's a list of a few of them:
THE ERGS, THE STEINWAYS, NANCY, THE POPSTERS, TEAM STRAY, BENT OUTTA SHAPE, SHORT ATTENTION, THE MODERN MACHINES, DELAY, MARKED MEN, LEMURIA, DEAD MECHANICAL, THE ZATOPEKS, THE PARASITES, NO PEOPLE, TOYS THAT KILL, HOT COPS, M.O.T.O., DR. FRANK/MR. T EXPERIENCE, CLOROX GIRLS, HIGH TENSION WIRES, DEFECT DEFECT, THE SPINOFFS, AV CLUB, BENJAMIN CARTEL, GROOVIE GHOULIES, MILTON, THE DEUCES, SICK SICK BIRDS, THE APERS, THE QUEERS, TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET, THE DRAMS, SMOKING POPES...
That's a good start. See? Now you have no excuse for listening to crap.
Sounds Like
If Neil Diamond wrote punk songs, sang like crap and was from Japan, he might make music that kind of sounded like this.
We've been around for a lil' while, 1999 or so. We're just almost starting to figure out what the hell we're doing.
We have tons of releases on various labels such as: Mutant Pop Records and Incessant Drip Records. Most of our old stuff is (thankfully) out of print. All of the band's available releases are available from a number of retail outlets and distros. Find them online at Interpunk, Punk N Junk or Little Type. or We also do mailorder. E-mail us first for prices and availability of merch.
Our stuff is available for downloading through Amazon, ITunes, EMusic, etc. through the fine folks at Are You Listening Records, so hop to it right now if that's your avenue for getting music!
THE PEABODYS were founded and played many a show in the bustling metropolis of Warren in the northwestern Pennsylvania backwoods, but now call Portland, Oregon home.

Hey Eric and Peabodys! I've been doing great and hope the case is the same for you. My boyfriend and I just moved back to Tacoma from LA a few months ago so we're much happier now. Had a really nice Christmas and I think it should be a fun New Year's. Playing any shows up in our area any time soon?
Hiya, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you got a ridiculous amount of presents all of which you wanted very much. Also I trust that you spent Christmas with those you like best in all the world, cause otherwise, why bother? I am running away to Canada in January to record some music, so maybe I should incorporate that into my new years resolution... something, something, I will be creative and productive, blah, blah, blah. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope the holidays are great fun for you. -Kate Elliott
