Bio
THE PERFECT CRIME have decided to see how exactly the users on Myspace (if any these days) go about listening to up and coming artists. With so many ways to hear new music at the moment it's no surprise that it appears Myspace has become a thing of the past. Having consciously made an effort not to jump on board the "let's-get-big-through-Myspace-band-waggon" back in the late naughties, the band have now uploaded their entire debut album 'Everything Else Can Wait', to stream. Enjoy. THE PERFECT CRIME hail from the leafy suburbs of St Neots, a sleepy town based on the very outskirts of Cambridgeshire. With little locally beyond supermarkets and little in the way of local heroes to emulate, the band begun playing together at a very young age – auteurs to their own design. Despite working in the confines of a three piece, they harbour the sound of a band with twice the members. Epic and monolithic in sound, “Everything Else Can Wait” is the youthful band’s first brave steps out of their comfort zone into the greater consciousness. Following a double A-side release in 2009, that gained the band its first praise from national and online media, they were picked up by the local independent label, Speechless to record an album in March with Pete Miles (King Blues, Failsafe, Futures, Your Demise). He captured their sound live, showcasing the technicality in the arrangements of a band that has become water-tight through intense practise and years of musical understanding between the members. They take influence from a variety of artists – most notably Deftones, Thrice, Biffy Clyro and Oceansize, distilling and breaking that down into something that’s both honest and all-encompassing on impact, but with intricacy enough to reward further listens From the swarm-of-bees guitar sound that engulfs the furious “Hailstones” to the melodic bliss of “Indigo”, the band rarely let up the pace or invention. Progressive throughout, the band are hard to pigeonhole – the intense riffage of Deliver Me Your Sins brings to mind the likes of Mastodon and Gojira. Other highlights include the math-rock rhythms of A Priest & A Proposition and the blistered, anthemic melodies behind their most accessible track yet, the majestic Quietly Confident. Belying their age, “Everything Else Can Wait” is a mature and powerful statement of intent across ten tracks. Almost certainly, it is only the very beginning. -

Metal Hammer 7/10 "The band prove that rocking doesn't have to mean all anger and aggressive playing with no melody".
