Formed in 2007, The Perils quickly grabbed the attention and respect of many, including punk legends Mick Jones of the Clash, who said “Give it a year and they’ll be bigger than us” and The Buzzcocks, who invited them to support them on tour. During the last twelve months alone, they have played high profile slots at Beachdown Festival, Brighton Live, Club NME and the Official Glastonbury LeftField Warm Up Show, additionally selling out shows at Brighton Komedia and Coalition. They were also the first unsigned band to play at a Rock Against Racism main show in 2008.
In support of their album release, The Perils have already completed a Club NME Headline tour and a full UK tour, as well as selling out headline shows at Brighton’s Concorde2, Tunbridge Wells Forum, Winchester’s Railway and Camden Barfly.
The band plan to tour the south again in August, as well as embarking on trips to Beachdown Festival, Southsea Festival, Secret Garden Party and returning to Brighton’s Club NME to film their debut live DVD.

“Brighton indie-rockers The Perils have been making strong headway within the choppy waters of the highly saturated indie guitar scene; thanks to their twin attack of excellent live show and memorable tunes, The Perils create classic guitar music.
‘Good People Do Bad Things’ is quality from beginning to end, sung with vigour and performed with panache" Latest7 Magazine
"It turns out The Perils are actually something quite special. (The River) was watertight; the guitars riffing against each other through vibrant beats and vocals, marking the direction taken for the rest of the gig. By the time they had finished with a flourish of ‘Be Your Peril’ and ‘If I Was King’ the audience were whipped into a Peril-hungry frenzy, dragging band members into the crowd for the final song before finishing in a sweaty, heaving mess on the floor.
It seems the arrogance is justified. The Perils are good, and they know it. If this is the next big thing then I’m quite looking forward to it. The Sussex Badger
“Spring has arrived! Or at least it certainly feels like it after the opening chords of Good People Do Bad Things. This is an astonishing assured debut album from the Brighton four piece.
The Perils need to be unleashed live. Every song has a guttural energy that would only be enhanced on stage. Capture them while they're raw. It has the feeling of a band enjoying themselves and wanting you to have a similarly positive outlook. There is no way you won't be uplifted by this collection of songs.” Daily Music Guide
“Good People Do Bad Things is our favourite album of 2009” Club NME Brighton
“This album is an impressive and enjoyable listen because it captures the excitement, energy and emotion of its twelve songs on record, which is as close to a concrete mission statement for the genre that I can confidently identify.
There’s no doubting that when it comes to The Perils, talented people have done good things. What more can you ask? The Line of Best Fit
"The Perils have been ripping up the live scene in their native Brighton and across the South of England – and you can hear why on this album – their crowd pleasing down ‘n’ dirty indie rock is the kind of thing that goes down a storm in small club venues. They’ve certainly got the potential and the cracking tunes to be alt-rock NME darlings and yet still get heavy rotation on the Radio 1 playlist” Vanguard Online
“Melodic indie from this fantastic Brighton four-piece” Time Out
“Punk influenced London rockers with a superb debut album” The London Paper
