The surname is no doubt familiar to the thousands of fans of the late, great 'King of Skiffle' Lonnie
Donegan, whose musical influence shaped the careers of many of today's top artists. Peter is
Lonnie's son and he has now formed his own band who perform a celebration of his father's music
done in their own inimitable style, along with rootsy, rollicking original tunes.
Imagine a melting-pot of electric and acoustic guitars, drums, banjo, piano, bass, fiddle and
accordion, bringing rock and roll back to its' roots... and you're part-way there.
The band performed, to great acclaim, at a number of festivals and theatres in 2007 including the
Americana International Festival in Newark, Towersey Folk Festival, Polesden Lacey Proms in the
Park, The Sage Gateshead, Portsmouth's Live at the Bandstand festival, The Mouth of the Tyne
Festival in North Tyneside and the Snape Proms, Aldeburgh.
'Defying a simple musical genre pigeonhole, the five musicians grabbed
the crowd from the first song and never let go..'
