"the peter harris experience" is two hours of sound stuff that has been described as "ecletic", "wide ranging", "stretching" & "a bloody racket".
it is probably somewhere between all these things, but basically aims, in this world of mtv conformity & the increasing possibilities to only listen / see / experience what you feel comfortable to listen / see / experience, to provide a range of sounds, some which will be old friends, some which will be new & you'll love, some which you will hate & some which you won't know what to make of....
...a journey rather than a comfort blanket...
from indian field recordings of funeral ceremonies to norwegian death metal, from japanese sonic experimentation to the best jangly catchy tunes of the past & present, it's a sonic journey of one hour & fifty minutes, with ten minutes of disjointed & poorly excuted ramblings by its host.
peter harris is the artistic director of wolf + water arts company which works with a wide range of special requirement groups. he has been a member of a number of ill fated musical projects including "the mutant elvis big band experience" ( "possibly the worst band in the history of music" worcester evening news) , "ploppy" & currently "iVC".
he is a nice man , though often vague & somewhat confused.

PLAYLISTS
"these playlists are drawn from my original notes for each show; & where they are likely to be more or less accurate for the first three quarters of each show, i know that they get more unreliable for the last thirty minutes of the shows as there is the general scramble & mental arithmetic as to what time there is left in the show & how more tracks we still want to fit in. i hope these lists are useful, but please be aware of the above fact"
