About me:
At this time we are embarking in a new chapter in the history of Phatsounds, but for those of you who are not familiar with us or those of you who have heard of us. Let me give you a brief perspective of who we are and where we been.
It all started in 1998 by founder Dj Stilo and cofounder Dj Nodoubt. The two who are also brothers wanted to represent under one banner, but were not sure what name to go by, at one point Dj Stilo had released a mixtape and had called it Phatsounds, and the person who had designed the cover added productions to the title and before you knew it became the name of the team.
They never imagined that it would go this far, or become the team that it is. With Dj Nodoubt reppin out of New York and Dj Stilo repping out of Florida. It had the potential to grow without boundaries.
In 1999 Dj stilo decided to open a record store and his popularity started to grow, he then linked up with other djs and promoters Phatsounds became officially a team. By 2000 Phatsounds had team members all over central Florida and Dj Nodoubt was not far behind, he also was doing his thing up north and also linking up with djs who would rep the Phatsounds flag. And now with multiple members on the team more people would know who phatsounds was, and of course it also helped that we had members on the team who were as savvy in all business aspects as they were in all dj aspects. Which helped reiterate and reinforce the direction which Phatsounds was heading?
Through the years Phatsounds have been at most mayor events, and some the hottest clubs, concerts, and, have released some of the hottest mixtapes. Including Phatsounds annual mixtape the league of extraordinary gentlemen, which is released out every year during the Puerto Rican day parade in New York City, and features every member of the team doing what they do best. This has also become a tradition for phatsounds.
As time went by Phatsounds expanded from music. It got in to promotion, graphic, design, as well as photography, Graffiti, Clothing, and also custom sneaker design hitting things up from every angle. In hopes of making phatsounds synonymous with success. Currently Phatsounds is in the process of a new beginning, and with a new title, and a new hunger, to rise to the top. There is no telling what the future holds. With loyalty and dedication their no stopping them from reaching their objective.
