GOOD NEWS! FOR ALL THOSE OLD SCHOOL FANS OF THE PHOENIX MOVEMENT... WITHIN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS I WILL BE CONVERTING SOME OF THE 4-TRACK REHEARSAL RECORDINGS WE USED AS A DEMO INTO MP3s AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THEM AND FINALLY HAVE US ON CD INSTEAD OF CASSETTE TAPES! "Mommy, what are ka-sa-set-tapes?"
No one else from the group even has copies of some of the stuff I'm converting!
NEVER BEFORE RELEASED PICS OF SHOWS COMING SOON AS WELL!!!!
This began as a project between Introvert Creative Group and Magallan... but quickly took on a life of it's own.... supported by Introvert Creative Group & Introvert's events until the group took flight on it's own with wings of rebirth.
*** This is old school Greensboro. Marcus was known for WISH FOR FISH, presently he's in Marcus & the Mantras. Davidson was known for HAT. Maria went on to form HERVANA (a local underground all girl punk band that kicked ass and played many Nirvana covers just after 9/11 @ 210 Cedar Street which most of you have never heard of). Jason was in ANTIPODES BRIDGE. William was in MAGALLAN (I foget how Marcus spelled it) w/Marcus... after WISH FOR FISH broke up... and while THE PHOENIX MOVEMENT was together. Adrian was on the scene with Introvert Creative Group, who at the time was the only group hosting and putting on SPOKEN WORD open mics in the Greensboro area, they became so popular and so welcomed into the Greensboro community at one point they were doing 4 different monthly events, otherwise something almost every week somewhere with no end in sight. One of those was at RECORD X. Scotty Irving of GEEZER LAKE/ Clang Quartet would collabarate with them, as well as Jeremy from the wilted blooming/touchritual, who now plays in URBAN SOPHISTICATES & songs of water. Marcus (ALSO w/the phoenix movement) played at many of these.
"Every so often you work on something really hard and everything that follows amazes you, and you feel too honored to be part to take credit for the formation, or spark. I'd like to say this was a project of mine, but it makes more sense to say this began as a project of mine then bloomed into something beautiful.I loved every moment with THE PHOENIX MOVEMENT and seek to model every new project after the energy we had, and the feeling of unity we had playing together, like one soul. I think that is the feeling all bands hope to have together, but rarely do." -Adrian
