Still operating under the name The Pineapple Brigade, but will probably change as soon as we can think of something witty and catchy or at least relevant.
The Band Currently Known as Pineapple Brigade began when Ulises (bassist-turned-rhythm guitarist) and Eugene (lead guitarist) joined forces (and song lists) in December of 08. Ulises, coming from a diversified background that included a bunch of obscure Japanese rock bands no one in Michigan ever heard of, was thrilled to work with a fellow guitarist who actually know who GO!GO!7188! were. Eugene, for his part, infused the previously punk-heavy songs with a distinct indie rock feel, thus lending a measure of legitimacy to the project.
Although Eric (bass guitar) never officially joined the band (we're still waiting for his official paperwork declaring his undying allegiances to The Brigade), we're assuming he is part of the band because of his tireless efforts during practice and his valuable input. Which is good, because he's a great bassist and has a great ear (two, actually) for editing songs. Which is also good, because our songs need a lot of editing.
Cheryl (vocals) came to us in our hour of need, at a point when the vocal limitations of Ulises and Eugene was painfully apparent to everyone, including loved ones and many traumatized neighbors. She has lent her golden voice to these songs, and elevated them all to a level of awesomeness we all appreciate. Especially the neighbors.
The Brigade will probably be ready to hit the Detroit music scene in July. You are fairly warned.
