Each member of The Pitchers has a varied and distinct taste in music, and the ongoing struggle that inevitably ensues during each practice results in a uniquely refreshing collision of indie rock and funk. A raw fusion of The Stone Roses, The Chillies and Oasis.
The Pitchers are the latest band to come out of the steel city. However none of them are from Sheffield or even from Yorkshire.
They are comprised of five students from Sheffield University each with a diverse taste in music which combine to form a fresh sound of funk clashed with Indie.
The bands members include Adam Butler on vocals, a talented songwriter, lyricist and frontman who's also not afraid to show off his talents on acoustic gitar. On guitar are Tom Langhorn and Simon Handy dazzling their audiences with their eclectic electric stylings.
No band is complete without a rhythm section and The Pitchers boast a great duo. On Bass guitar is Tom Cox, who can play John Paul Jones style catchy bass riffs as well as flashing signs of funky brilliance with Flea style slap bass. On drums is Chris Walker, a hardcore drum lover who grew up praying to be the next John Bonham or Keith Moon, who probably sweats and screams more than any drummer alive.
