Started out in August '95 in Lancaster, PA. First Show October '95 in Andy Jones kitchen on Halloween... with lots of tinfoil. Played mostly Halloween parties, local firehalls and record stores throughout '96 and '97. First show in a bar with Nashville Pussy at the Blue Star in Lancaster, PA at the end of '97. The fateful first meeting of The Pits and the Hillbilly Werewolf. The first out of state show was at the Del Haven Cafe in Wilmington, DE in late '97 or early '98. We played the show and were kindly asked to leave the town of Wilmington... and the state of Deleware... and don't come back. The bar shut down and we never played Delaware again. After that mess, we went to our first Monster Convention as a band, where we met up with Hillbilly, Remo & Shane Rock n' Roll Morton, who gave us an invite to play Atlanta. We built our first tour around this show. Over the years, Atlanta became one of our favorite places to play, and every tour was built around it. From '98 through '04 we played lots of shows with a lot of great bands. Some of the tour highlights we can remember would be Dave Quick's Elvisfest and Heavy Rebel Weekend - North Carolina, Shane Morton and Jim Stacey's Haunted Houses - Atlanta, SXSW - Texas, CBGB's - NY, The Star Bar and the Nine Lives Saloon - Atlanta, Dixie Tavern - New Orleans, and a lot of other cool bars in towns all over the Eastern Seaboard. When we toured we were like a pack of wild dogs... we'd usually be on the road with the same five or six bands and an Elvis impersonater... that's what always made it fun. The Pits played their last show July 4th Weekend of 2004 in Winston-Salem, NC.
