The Players Band new CD “Live & Direct” now available!
The Players Band is proud to announce the release of our fourth album entitled – “Live & Direct.” “Live & Direct” is 17 live tracks (78.5 minutes) full of some of the best ska/reggae sounds around. Sure, lots of bands can sound great on a studio album, but can they do it live? You be the judge!
For those in the Baltimore/DC/Philly area, we will be having a CD release party on February 29th at the Recher Theatre in Towson MD with our friends Can’t Hang.
For everyone else unable to make the show and would like a CD now, just send an e-mail to Andy at theplayersband@gmail.com. CD’s are $12 and shipping is free. The Players Band is an 8-piece ska band formed in Baltimore in 1999 with a musical style that combines ska and reggae, and is characterized by the use of upbeat horns and percussion. The band has played over 350 live shows, opening for acts such as The Isley Brothers, Toots and the Maytals, The B-52s, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Joe Strummer, The English Beat, Third Eye Blind, Citizen Cope, Fishbone, The Toasters, The Skatalites, The Pietasters, and many others at such venues as the 9:30 Club, MCI Center, Knitting Factory, Trocadero Theatre, Chance Theater, Bottle & Cork, Recher Theatre, 8x10, and Artscape.
