James Combs and Linda Good are the Plush Interiors, based in Los Angeles. Their distinctive sound draws from a desire to meld vintage song forms with modern machines.
You may know James’ arty pop music from his stint as a solo recording artist on ultra hip west coast label Ubiquity Records (he also produces Chris Douridas’ influential radio program for KCRW, Santa Monica.) Linda has been a keyboardist for major alternative acts like Jane's Addiction, The Mars Volta and Bitter:Sweet. She is also co-founder of the alternative power pop outfit The Twigs.
James and Linda joined forces with the idea of writing collaborating on a few pieces of music for fun -- and within a few months, found themselves playing to a packed house at the Roxy, sharing a bill with Tom Verlaine of the influential 70s cult band Television. That success was quickly followed up with a gig opening for new wave faves Scritti Politti. A full Plush Interiors album is currently in the works. KCRW DJ Gary Calamar says the collection is “one to watch for” in the new year.
The debut video of their signature song, “Lately I Wonder,” was directed by Michael Klima, a visual effects genius who most recently worked for George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch. It was shot on location in historic downtown Los Angeles and Chinatown.
As songwriters and composers, the duo have seen their music placed in films and TV shows including SIX FEET UNDER (HBO), ENTOURAGE (HBO), DEXTER (SHOWTIME), MEN IN TREES (ABC), GOSSIP GIRL (CW), SUMMERLAND (WB), EMILY’S REASONS WHY NOT (ABC), LAS VEGAS (NBC), CRUEL INTENTIONS 3 (Sony), SAVED (TNT) and the soon-to-be-released documentary AMERICAN TEEN, which debuted at Sundance 2008.

Many of U have requested that we put some new music on our player so we've added a brand new track called eXpression. We promise to start rotating our music more often... THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT!
James!!!! We love you! It has been too long, my friend... I am so jealous that you opened for Tom Verlaine, one of my all time fave guitarists. Please don't tell me whatever horrible story you may have that would sully my hero.
