A New Space For Poetry, Libraries, Life etc.
The Itinerant Poetry Library has a new website: read up on all our library theory, see pictures of our library collection, Behind the Scenes at the library or just take a look at the trailer for our award-winning documentary which is due out in 2009/10! It's all at: http://www.tipl.info
The Itinerant Poetry Librarian travels the world with a library of ‘Lost and Forgotten’ poetry, installing the library & librarian and archiving the sounds, poems and poetry of the cities, peoples and countries she meets...
In May 2006 she was duped into unpaid employeek-ment by The Poetry Cubicle as an agent poesie, responsible for installing a Library of 'Lost & Forgotten' Poetry around the world.
Three years, eleven countries and twenty-five cities later it is 2009. Oops. She still currently eats, sleeps and lives wherever her Library is...
The Poetry Cubicle is a Not4Profit Interactive Poetry Space. This includes and doesn't end with: a poetry library (portable and non-portable); a digital poetry archive; an educational resource base; a poetry shop; poetry event programming & promotion. We were founded in 2002 in the UK and have toured and taken poets on tour to the Glastonbury Festival, Amsterdam International Poetry Festival & beyond. We also provide workshops in schools, broadcast our own poetry, music and spoken word show on Future Radio, run a series of literature and music events, as well as pioneering performance art poetry installations like 'Activate The Poet' and 'Head In A Box' which featured at the Norwich Fringe Festival in 2004 & 2005. We love poetry. Obviously.
What’s our Itinerant Poetry Librarian up to right now?
People, organisations, minerals and vegetables interested in poetry, libraries, taxonomy, music and art.
Or...come meet us on Facebook, if not in real life AT the library! http://www.facebook.com/theitinerantpoetrylibrarian
