My book, Born By A River is now available at stores.lulu.com/kwhy. When ordering your copy of this collection of poems, you will have to provide an email address and create a password-in order to follow your order.
Make sure you view the book preview because I am not your typical poet. I speak from the heart, I say what I mean, and I don’t care too much if anyone gets offended by my work. I do use some slang terminology in my work. So if you are interested in REAL TALK and realistic situations that we ALL can relate to, check out the book. 1

I wish everyone a great holiday but more importantly, I wish you have a new year that brings triumph over all adversity. I wish you all hope, hope that would open the windows of heaven and blanket your every need that compels you to have charity magnified within your hearts to help others who are less fortunate. I wish you all faith, faith to know and believe you are truly special in the kingdom of Heaven. Love by the author of love him self.

So, I pray for you all and know unequivocally my prayers for you would be answered. Lord I believe in miracles and I am asking you to help all those in need. If their sick I pray now for their healing. If there fallen upon hard times, I pray you see them through. For all those who are in a relationships and feel they can't get out. I stand today in proxy and will Pray for their courage to over run their heart, mind and spirit and grant the ability to get out of their terrible situation.
Lord I pray today for those who hunger, that they may be fed abundantly and shown how to feed their families for a life time. I pray for all those who have lost a love one. May their hearts be fill with love and joy with the capacity to know they can call on God all Mighty who mends all hearts and will See you through. For all of you who may feel lonely this time of the year I pray today that you and listen to God's voice. Here his message for it is food for your soul.

I pray for mercy for all the wrong we may have done toward others and ask for forgiveness in Jesus Name Amen.
Have a Dynamic New Year!

Remember family, 2008 is your year. Don't dwell on your past mistakes or failures but build upon them. They were lessons that needed to be learned to move you to the next successful stage in your life. Don't be arrogant because of your accomplishments but help those have fallen short of theirs.
Be Blessed. Your Friend Dave.

"The Page Screams Out" is a new track that I available have for FREE download and distribution. Dig it.

This is what I like most about MySpace, whereas we are able to share our music with others and by-pass a host of vultures that are unappreciative of the art but anxiously eyeing a prize that the art will provide, at the cost of...well...I guess that's those who buy music.

My Italian Status...

You sit there wondering why I am the way I am, or why I may react a certain way when I don't want to play into your games. It is the fact that your mind can not comprehend or witness this type of stand. You verbalize me crazy because my skin is white but if I was someone of another color had this same attitude it would make me just right.
Color me beautiful, not just the usual visual, closed minded individual who thinks just like the foolish umbilical. Brilliance is my vision to reach for, I want to achieve no treason and just believe that there is a reason why we can all just be fused...as one an overcome the poison that has been instilled in our minds over time maybe this dream can be mine in prime time...back to reality I must remember....my race has me as a disgrace because my finance won't let me own that Mercedes, live in that dream house, wear all the fly clothes that they all rock about. So I stand alone on this empty street with few who believe in me... abandoned by the rest as I don't fit their profile when I tried to stay a while. You can be sure that I have and always will stand on solid ground. My mentality is not your philosophy and can not be dissected by the rejection of what your closed mind has been infected with. My attempt to connect with many just don't want to see beyond their own boundaries they set for their mind to see. I am an Italian American married to a Latino Puerto Rican and to many of both races that proposes a huge sin. My Italain American people call me guinny trash cause I don't have their cash and Latina's despise that my husband is of their blood tone and he's mine to their demise. Other "white" Americans display Italian Americans as overweight, pasta eating, morons with no charm or educational bonds. I refuse to allow my children's identity to be compromised because society can not decide what is right. I won't follow the pattern cut out for me by this conf

"God's Masterpiece"

Look at me, straight in my face, can you see me... see my beauty

my imperfections are my perfection and is a tool for you to see through

the veils embedded in your head that makes your mind blindside

Who I am on the inside makes me shine a beautiful light on the outside

Fighting through the imagery that you were taught is not beautiful,

an endless deception of the perception of me not visually accepted

my peers insiatiably berate me, degrade me

their words and laughter penetrates me with pain

but I am beautiful....can you see me?

Yes I am unique, I have something grand to offer this world

The image you see before you to you is imperfection

but to God I am His masterpiece

I have been given God's grace

with hopes that you too will embrace my face that some may describe as a disgrace

which affects my spiritual displacement in this place.

Look at me... my face tells you I am beautiful

I live in a world that can be so cruel

my look may be unusual

but I am beautiful.

Look at me...

my eyes still see you...

but do you see me?

Look at me....

embrace my difference...

I am beautiful...

see me....please.

calling all poets continued....
In many ways, I find my strength by seeing how

strong she is...

Because if faced with the same

burden, I can't honestly say if I could carry it.

I am beginning with my granddaughter who has

been on the Maury Povitch show because of her

condition.

I then want to extend that to others as well and

hopefully help others in the very position we find

ourselves in know,

that there are others out there

that care, and that yes, there is hope.

Although not many of you see it, do know, that

there are many parents out there that deal with

things on a regular basis regarding their children

with special needs and they need all the help

they can get.

I look forward to hearing from you who are

interested in participating and thank you ahead of

time for doing so.

And, remember when you were children...

If you had to deal with what some of these

precious beings are dealing with, you would

certainly hope that there were people out there,

that could make things a little better, with a few

words, from their pen.

(Talented strokes that is:)

Love and light to all

4 . You can mail me the poems for submission

to my email address on my space. If I believe

they are suitable for this project I will then email

you back with my personal email address so we

can communicate further directly and I can keep

you posted on when it will be released so you

can if you so chose, let others know where your

work has been published.

I look forward to hearing from you and reading

your submissions. Although you will not be paid

for this, your works will no doubt receive further

exposure and also, you will be helping a little girl

that was born with a condition most never

imagine, have the opportunity to achieve a

normal existence.

Future Anthologies will be

directed at more children that are faced with life

issues so we can aid them in what ever way we

can as well. The first release again is for my

granddaughter but if you would like to contribute

to future projects that would also be very

welcomed.

This is Volume one. For my granddaughter

Candace.

Volume two will be for the next condition we

believe we can gather monies for to assist them

as well.

Note:

This is not for personal gain. This is for

assisting disadvantaged children.

The most precious innocent beings on the planet

who by their very nature should not be faced with

things that the majority of adults if burdened with,

could not handle.

In many ways, I find my strength by seeing how

strong she is...

Because if faced with the same

burden, I can't honestly say if I could carry it.

I am beginning with my granddaughter who has

been on the Maury Povitch show because of her

This is Mimi, and my goal is to make some of

those tears go away....

Especially those shed by children..

Hello everyone,

I have a project that I am doing and am looking

for people that are interested in being a part of it.

An Anthology for my granddaughter...

The goal of this Anthology is to give the

contributing poets another avenue to have your

work recognized in a positive light. And of

course also to provide necessary funds for

surgeries needed to correct my granddaughters

current condition, so she can pursue a normal life

like the rest of us.

This is a fund raising project with all proceeds

going to children in need. This first volume will be

called CANDACE and all proceeds will go to the

Candace Battiste Surgery Fund! All contributing

poets will retain copyrights and no material will be

reproduced electronically or in any other manner

without permission from you, the author.

I am requesting that all interested poets:

1. email me with two inspirational poems with the

theme:
promoting tolerance,
love,
support,
inspiration,
tenderness,
unconditional love,
children respecting other children,
compassion

And, if you choose to, you can dedicate a poem
directly to Candace!

2. Additionally, with your submissions, email a

mini bio that will be included in the Anthology;

name, nickname, email address (optional),

MySpace page url)
