Electro/Rock duo The Polysonic formed in Gloucester in early 2009 after Tom Wolfe and Leigh Roberts met at a local pub. They started writing songs together using simply a guitar, a bass, and a laptop loaded with Logic and Reason software. Their style developed very quickly into a unique blend of alternative rock and electro, infused with new wave, which gained the band comparisons to artists as diverse as Daft Punk as well as Joy Division. Shortly after recording several demos, Tom and Leigh decided to start remixing as well to expand their fan base, and this resulted in their popular remix of Bloc Party’s Signs, which also gained them recommendation by popular music blog EQ. The band were also shown interest from American pop singer Brandon Hilton, who asked the band to remix his song Hollywood. This proved to be hugely popular, and the band were the asked to produce further songs for him, including his song Sorry.
With 2009 having been a very successful year for the band, 2010 is looking to bring even more good things from the band, with the release of their debut single Heaven & Hell early in the year, followed later by the release of their debut EP, both of which will be available from all major download sites.
