Have you ever heard a song that sounds
so familiar on that first listen, you're sure
it must be a hit by a famous band?
If anything sums up this London UK band's music, it's
that sensation. Their blend of influences focuses on
the classic song writing groups of the 60s and 70s
(Beatles, Kinks, Bowie, Pink Floyd etc.), producing
songs that are at once accessible, melodic and
catchy. They also draw on a wide range of other styles
in the popular music spectrum - from country through
folk to modern-day Indie - adding a different twist to
each composition.
"Very nicely placed retro pop sunshine... a bit Indie, a bit rock, a bit
John Lennon... chord progressions strait outta Ray Davies' inner sanctum" The Dublin Castle, Camden
"Classic psychedelically enhanced melodious pop" The Hope & Anchor, Islington
"Well crafted retro Indie rock" The Halfmoon, Putney
The Poppy Seeds - a bit retro, a bit rock, a bit Indie, very Poppy.

Hi, hope you don't mind a plug (but it involves a free track!).
1 Here's the free track: click here to download (It's a bit Beatley/Bowie-esque/Kinksy).
2. If you DO like it, you can download the new single, 'Tonight', on iTunes or, if you live in Ireland, by texting music 233 to 57501 or visiting downloadmusic.ie. Costs about 1 Euro.
3. And if you really like that, you can get the album, "Twisted City", from CD World or Amazon.
Thank you very much, and please excuse the plug. All the best.
Well it's been a wee while, what with broken feet and exploding drummers, but Guido Sol are taking our polymorphic art-pop shenanigans to the stage again in London, just for you.
This Thursday (19th), we're at the Archway Tavern, which is in sniffing distance of Archway tube station, which itself is just a couple of stops from Camden Town on the Northern Line.
Then the following night (Friday 20th), we've got a big gig in central London. It's at the Red Rooms, downstairs in The Comedy pub on Oxendon Street, right near Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus.
Just have a little look at one of our web sites for details...
