Like a mix of the rawness of the Replacements and accent country of the Old 97's, the Popravinas pop adds to the income layers of melodies in ambience of pub rock. The outstanding voice of Sill – to which it seems to have been immersed in barrels of bourbon – and the guitar of Johnny Adair, rascante and melodic at the same time, they give the personality's touch to the sonority of the group. And they also heard Stones and Teenage Fanclub...
“ Popravina Weekend ” opens the disc with guitars sticking and vocal harmonies celebrating in the night inside. “ She's Got Fashion ” pop dyes with tones country in the harmonica and twinges of the steel guitar. The involving one “ Of the you Think? ” it excels itself in the melody ganchuda and in the presence of the doubled voice of Sill. Mandolin, violin and steel guitar for the lively celebration country-pop of “ Biggest Shot “.
Guitars of accent punk growling in “ Temporary Relief “ and riffs shining in “ Johnny's Gotta Girlfriend ”. Already in “ Girl With A Workface ”, piano, acoustic guitars and harmonica calm the tempers up to the last drink – with taste of “ only more a ” - the infectious “ Nearest Pretty Girl ”. The Popravinas-Everybody's Fault But Ours. This Santa Monica band pronounces its name with a long "o" (as in "Pope" rather than "pop"), which you'll find out right off the bat with "Popravina Weekend", a track that encapsulates their good-timey, power-pop-meets-alt-country sound - think a more down-to-earth Old 97s crossed with an American Faces. The band is led by Eddy Sill, late of the semi-legendary LA band The Mutts, who were kind of SoCal's answer to The Replacements back in the 80s and 90s. Plenty of quality tracks here, including "She's Got Fashion", "Biggest Shot" and the fine midtempo number "She Feels 101". Pick this one up and have your own Popravina Weekend-

Hello! Once again, I am very sorry for being so lapse lately. Things in Bonny Scotland are still a bit chaotic, but should hopefully calm down by mid-August when I hope we can get away for a few days...not sure where yet, but probably Yorkshire as we want to take Marbles!
