Bio
The Powergoats have been spotlighted on CBC Radio One, Live 88.5 FM, CHUO FM and 101.9 DAWG FM. On July 8th 2011 They opened for Rise Against on the Claridge Mainstage at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest alternating with Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys (they also enjoyed a spot at the renowned festival in 2010). The Powergoats are an Ottawa-based indie band conceptualized by in late 2008 by Hamilton native Jamie Douglas. Jamie is a musican/writer who has worked in film, radio and television, and performed for the Canadian Forces in the Pesian Gulf in 2003 with Barney Bentall and the Tony D Band. Jamie's lyrical stories have carried the focus for three releases so far; 2008's 'Chrome Libido', 2010's 'Moonlit Crimes' and 2012's 'Bottled Sunset'. Their upcoming 4th release will have material found on 2013's 'Ruby Headlights' compilation, including the new Spring 2013 single 'Indoor Sunshine". With their strong blues-rock influences intact, they've infused many different styles, but quality songwriting has always been Jamie's priority. The Powergoats are ready to move aggressively forward into the music industry reflecting vibes from bands like The Grateful Dead, The Black Keys, The Allman Brothers and Blue Rodeo. -

Throwing The Grateful Dead, Dire Straits and David Bowie into a blender
