Formed in 2002 with the current line up settled in 2006, The Prescriptions have to date released 2 EPs (Simple Pleasures,Pro Bono Publico), receiving excellent reviews & airplay. Skilfully binding lyrics and melodies that leave you thinking and humming, their music is a blend of acoustic & electric guitars, swirling Hammond organ & Garsonesque piano with a rhythmic punch reminiscent of early Attractions. So far much of 2007 has seen the band play some live shows while also completing their long anticipated debut album”When all was Lost”, due out in 2008.
"Boasting a gritty stroke of originality that not many Irish bands can match" Metro
"Songs ranging from the highly polemic to gorgeously melodic" Hotpress
"Featuring the Dylanesque rasp of Niall Brennan" Irish Times
"They are the type of band that you want to listen to all night long" Cluas.com
The Prescriptions return to the fray with their new single "Get up & Get Around".
The song is taken from their forthcoming debut album"When all was Lost" and is
the bands most commercial offering yet.
"Get up & Get Around" was written & recorded by the band & the accompanying video (animated by Californian filmmaker Brian Firenzi) perfectly captures the song's themes of taking risks, accepting the good with the bad & not letting life pass you by.
WHEN ALL WAS LOST
GET UP & GET AROUND
some images of the man himself put to our tune 'Marlon Brando'
try to be the first,
try to be the best,
try to be the one
for the future and for the past;
try to be best,
never be the last
and thank God if He will wants
give you another chance.
