Sounds Like
lots of things. we might sound something like the music we like. bands we like are brown feather sparrow, low, death cab for cutie, fiest, denison witmer, eisley, damien rice, mum, bright eyes among others. that might give you and idea.
pretty/ugly is a group of musicians from springfield, MO that started as a duo of arin gilbert and tessa huckaba. They started writing songs in december of '05 when tessa moved back to springfield, MO from colorado after a 3 month retreat. tessa sings and plays rhodes while arin sings and plays guitar or piano. they have been playing around the world for a year and a half and they have had some great musicians playing with them and are sad that some are not with them as often
pretty/ugly, in some regards, is a collective indie pop band influenced by the likes of brown feather sparrow, low, denison witmer, mates of state, rosie thomas, ryan adams and pedro the lion. each of the members are songwriters individually and contribute songs for the band they also write songs as a band.
They released their first EP"flotsam/jetsam" in may of 2006 recorded and produced by Daniel Kirkpatrick of Studio 2100 in springfield, MO and are currently writing new songs and practicing to play some fun shows this summer and fall.
"our goal is to have fun making beautiful music that everybody can enjoy."-arin gilbert
I feel very bad... We went to pick up our cars and I thought you'd still be at Dwaze Zaken when we returned. Unfortunately, you were gone... Too bad we didn't have a change to talk some more. I really enjoyed your company and music. Hope to see you guys again.
Hugs,
Job
P.s. We got the limited editions EP's from Bas and Jeroen, they're great. Thanks for that!

"…GO! Motion is a new wave indie band that brings catchy hooks, driving rhythms and dance beats for hip shaking… this Omaha quartet has made some serious stride since its emergence only a year ago… the group's debut album, Kill The Love, boasts an unabridged combination of elegance and energy."
- Tim Greenup, The Reader
"...the band intends to make a name for itself outside of Omaha, and judging from what I've heard so far, this band has the potential to do that... GO! Motion prides itself as a dance band, driven by fast backbeat drums and throbbing bass… their charm comes from both the soaring guitar lines and Albert's Cure-esque vocals... there are a lot of bands doing this sort of rock-dance these days (VHS or Beta, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, etc.). GO! Motion belongs in the conversation."
- Tim McMahan, Lazy-i
"..."Kill the Love" is an impressive debut album and should take the place on the shelves of local music fans' CD collections alongside other party starters."
