"In our zeal as revolutionists we must draw our nourishment from the massesand will advance more rapidly only if we inspire them by our example."-- Che Guevara
"The industry is in a state of emergency," proclaims our new self-styled leader of the free world. "Everybody knows it all the way up to the Russell Simmons's of the world." Not just another hardcore rapper, there is a lot more to Prezedent than just the surface shock. Prezedent is a revolutionist. A visionary with a talent for creating stories based on true life experiences while honoring the art of lyricism. Prezedent brings a refreshing air to a hip hop arena plagued by violence, materialism, and misogyny. Heavily influenced by the late Bob Marley and Tupac Shakur, Prezedent is leading the renaissance of artists who strive to bring remedies to those who have been marginalized and oppressed.
Prezedent aka 2020 was born Samuel Joffre Payne in Chicago, IL. Moving soon after to Washington, D.C. Prezedent, the eldest of five siblings, began rapping and rhyming at age thirteen. Recalls Prezedent, "I was a loner, and from the age of thirteen I basically raised myself. Unfortunately I was running the streets real bad and it was only a matter of time before it caught up with me." The streets had a firm chokehold on the young Prez and even though he was bubbling on the streets as one of the illest M.C.'s around, it wasn't enough to keep him out of jail. But his talents had not gone unnoticed, and he landed a recording contract with Relativity who delivered his papers to him while he was still on the inside. His first single, "Gotta Be Like That," was a commercial smash and the label moved up production on his album. Prezedent under the moniker 2020 toured with Onyz, Bones, Thugs and Harmony and Fat Joe among others. Bad management dogging his project however and Prezedent became increasingly frustrated with the politics that burdened the industry. He decided to hit the streets one last time in order to pay back his $100k advance, and became one of the first rappers to own the rights to his own masters. "I owed them nothing," he says.
When the label folded during his project, Prezedent was only a short term casualty. Taking an impromptu flight to London, England, Prezedent hooked up with a business man interested in music who then introduced him to London's high society. It was a culture shock for Prezedent as he found himself in a .. to bridge the gap between the vastly different cultures of the elite with the bling-bling of the urban community. With his Independent label Real Life Records Prezedent recorded the album "Balance," and in a society that has tried to ban the sport of foxhunting for decades he made headlines with the controversial single, "Hypocrites," denoting the right to hunt. "I believe in the freedom of speech," he told Britain's leading newspapers. "The protesters can critize all day long but I guarantee if you look down they will be wearing leather boots." He became the champion of the Countryside Alliance and performed his single live in front of 400,000 irate protesters can critize all day long but I guarantee if you look down they will be wearing leather boots." He became the champion of the Countryside Alliance and performed his single live in front of 400,000 irate protesters at a protest rally in London. His antics took him all the way to the Royal Albert Hall where he performed alongside the legendary Pink Floyd at a star-studded gala. Rap was suddenly on the map in England opening doors for many young British M.C.'s
Prezedent's music steers clear of the typical sugarcoated hip-hop lyrics of many of his contemporaries and he has gained a reputation for a harder-edged political revolutionary style. "I want people to listen, not just to the melody, but to the message. I'm a politician of music, and with music there are no limitations to my speaking the truth." Growing up he was particularly influenced by music from Tupac and Bob Marley but it was the West Coast group named Above the Law that really hit home for him. "I heard that album "Livin' Like Hustlers" and it was all over, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, there was something about that album that just blew my mind."
Prezedent's bluntness resulted in his lyrics taking on more powerful and controversial themes which realistically reflected his views on life and the current state of rap. His first single, "Make it Hot," from his forthcoming album, marks his territory and glimpses a lifetime of aggression rocked in a three minute track, "I dedicate this one to all the kids who think they have to be tough to be cool, keep real to the front side, haters and fakers to the other side." Prezedent follows "Make it Hot," by switching his flow to the club mix, "Ghetto Broad," where he flows in rhythm with this bounce track creating a synergy that will no doubt find its way onto DJ play lists nationwide. With his do it yo damn self attitude, Prezident is determined to keep it gully. "Everything I do is a representation of what's missing out there today. A ghetto passport isn't the only component a rapper needs, and as far as not having any street credibility because you're not out of Brooklyn, I'm not telling you I'm gonna shoot you or kill you but I am gonna let you know how I'm going to destroy you lyrically . Music is man's universal system of communication, especially in the minority communities. My message is to show people there is help. Words can hurt or heal. I give myself and my words as a sacrifice."
Rising above the endless throngs of wannabes, Prezedent is a rapper who possesses limitless charisma and powerful lyrical skills. His performances are as animated as they are riveting and he commands a verbal arsenal aimed straight at hip hop's jugular.

Our main objective is to let people know, that Barack is still in need of help. Not only does he need our monetary contribution, but he needs us to continue to spread the word to those that have no knowledge to who he is or what he is about. We need to reach the individuals that he can’t reach. That's our main objective and sole reason for having this fundraiser.
Unfortunately, we will only be able to let 250 people into the show itself. That is the maximum that the venue can hold, but there will be plenty of room by the vendors. Come by and support our next President of the United States, President Barack Obama!!!
