From the Gothic opening to the first song to the total rock out at the
end of their set the band give it their all barely pausing for breath
only to re-tune their instruments for the next drop of power. Passion
and anger is the key to all this, they follow in the footsteps of local
acts like The Sunshine Underground and are just as committed

It's fantastic to see a band so totally confident with their material,
without ever being arrogant, that they can just close their eyes and
give it loads. The fact that the previously indifferent crowd were sat
up begging for more come the end of the breakneck six-song set shows how
good these guys really are.

Opener "The Announcement" is a bona-fide classic, with leaping guitar
passages and stop-start rhythms leading into a chorus that doesn't so
much as soar as launch itself straight into the stratosphere.

Even better is the edgy "Ariel" which features the kind of anthemic
chorus most new bands would give their right arm for. Following a year
in which the new wave of post-punk poster boys came to chart prominence,
expect to be hearing from these boys a lot more in 2006.

We are The Printed Sound. Rob Pye (vocals / guitar) and Ian Mason (guitar) began recording demos on a four track at Ian's flat in Fallowfield, Manchester. Gaz Mason (no relation) was lured away from Australia to play the drums and Mat McMahon joined on bass. We spend our times in rehearsal rooms or in the flat on the outskirts of Leeds.
If there are going to be two gigs that you miss this year then you don't want to make them these because something special will be happening here.
DEERHOOF - The most creative band on the planet, constantly reinventing their sound with a drummer that makes Animal look sedentary, an absolute joy to behold live!!
www.myspace.com/deerhoof
FIELD MUSIC - Song craftsmanship of the highest order from these stablemates of The Futureheads who I'm sure (I'm guessing here) are able to summon the spirits of The Beach Boys, The Beatles and other pop geniuses and do with them whatever they like!
www.myspace.com/fieldmusic
QUACK QUACK - Awe-inspiring drumming, slightly deranged but harmonious keys, bass guitar which is like a firm groovy handshake... Sorry, it's not possible to summarize these guys, you'll have to hear for yourself.

KIT - Good friends of Deerhoof and they need to be checked out NOW!!! So do it.

This gig has great bands playing but enough about them. This gig is about ME and JAMES and who's the hardest, and no I don't have an ego, but I just can't stand it when someone is convinced that they're better than me when they're blatantly inferior!
There's only one real way of resolving this...
The Lodger - www.myspace.com/thelodgerleeds

Fat techno style guitar riffage and drums for the downtrodden of today.
INDICA RITUAL
www.myspace.com/indicaritual
Superior blockhead pop coated with ropes of electro jizz, a feast for all the senses.
Sounds like: a mixture of Cardiacs, Blur fuzz rock and electronic jabs
THE GEORDIE APPROACH
www.myspace.com/thegeordieapproach
www.myspace.com/leedsimprovisedmusicassociation
The essence of rippage. Featuring Chris Sharkey, Stale Birkeland and Petter Fadnes of LIMA pulling out all the stops with semi-structured improvised meanderings of guitar, drums and sax. Skill!!!
Yeass, Silverlode here. We would like to invite all of our friends to be at our CD launch party on Sunday, April 15th at Bar Coco, Leeds.
