Sounds Like
THE PROPELLERS have an engaging sound. We do not reinvent the wheel but we do steer it a little different. The CD "The Sky's The Limit" has a nice mix of punchy modern / classic rock, jazz influence, pop, and a some blues. Some of it is more easy listening and yet the ballads are very intense. All in all we sound like US!
I grew up in a small town 32 miles West of Philadelphia, PA called Downingtown, PA. Although Philly may not be like NYC, LA or Nashville it is rich in music tradition.
In fact it was the members of a succesful band out of Philly that inspired me to pursue serious songwriting. I met Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman from "The Hooters" many years ago when they were just a hot local band. At the time I had just started playing guitar. I taught myself the guitar by making up my own little silly chord patterns and lyrics.
However seeing the passion these guys had for there music and the fun they were having making a living doing something they loved, made me realize I wanted a piece of that. I only wish I would have been smart enough to become closer friends of theirs however.
While I haven't quite had the success they have had I have seen my music bring enjoyment and entertainment to many people. I had a band in the mid to late 1980's called "Batteries Not Included" that packed small clubs and had listeners requesting original songs.
I have also had the pleasure to be hired to write music for aspiring artists. No household names up to this point but I continue to get the word out. I did write some music for a child actress who tried to resurrect her career by becoming a singer but she tragically took her own life half way through the project.
In 2002 my band called "The Propellers" had a succesful CD called The Sky's The Limit. We had some limited airplay.
I currently write music for Sher Lefever of Confederate Starz Artist Management. I am of course available for hire. I have a few songs being considered now for a film.
