Short Answer: The Prozacs are a pop / punk band from Western Massachusetts.
Long Answer: The Prozacs are a Poppy-Punk band that formed in September 2001 from the ashes of the Massachusetts ( USA ) based band, The GrandPrixx. After 7 years, several changes in the line-up, touring in the USA and many releases on indie labels...the bands 3rd full length album, 'Playing The Chords We Love' was just released on CD by Cheapskate Records & LP by Knowhere / No Breaks Records.
The Current line-up consists of J Prozac ( formerly of The GrandPrixx ) on guitar and vocals, Jimmy Craig ( formerly of Fuzbuni ) on drums & Pete Martone ( of RI band The McGunks ) on bass and backing vocals. Bringing together many influences from the lookout! Records era of punk rock, the attitude of bands like Screeching Weasel & The Queers , the melody and fun of 50's and 60's pop-rock and doo whop and of course the Ramones...The Prozacs keep moving ahead with all the heart and passion to keep the rock alive.
New releases are in the works, including a split 7" with the McRackins from Vancouver Canada. Catch us as we will playing/touring in promotion of the current releases....winning over fans 3 chords at a time.
J Prozac is proudly endorsed by Daisy Rock Guitars!
