About The Commune

~~Enter the Commune~~

Founded in January of 2007, the Commune began as an online gathering of psychedelic musicians from around the world.

Realizing that many of these bands were in or near the Greater Toronto Area, the Commune turned its cherry eyes to staging musical events. These happenings came to be called ‘Psych Night.’ Blooming in Toronto’s Smiling Buddha Bar, Psych Night events have now been held in locales near and far, always reaching out to the diaspora of heads, wandering the mellow edges of society.

This year the Commune has teamed with Scorpion Management with the goal pf discovering new Canadian musical talent and giving these performers a chance to play in a friendly environment.

In addition to the popular Psych nights, we are now promoting a singer/songwriter showcase called 'Weathervane.' This new showcase is for any performer or band with something to say politically, culturally or religiously (but that could suck). These shows will premier this summer at clubs across Canada. Woot!
