About me:

Writing can change the world, but because the publishing industry is centred around making money, more experimental and thoughtful writing gets pushed to the side.

we will not pander to the lowest common demoninator.

we will not tell you what you want to read.

all our books are hand bound. Most likely by the author's themselves.

because of this we are only able to produce a select number of copies of each publication.

www.collectiveunconscious.co.uk

Our first book is now available to order:

Current Projects:

ideas book no.1

Have an idea that might change the world?
Given up on the idea of keeping it to yourself and making money from it?
Have an unqualified theory that you think someone else might be inspired by?
ideas book no.1 aims to collect these theories together and get them out into the world.
If you feel you have something to contribute. We need a short essay / diagram / brainstorm at the least. Each one should cover one page.

Please send you ideas to: pumpleton@hotmail.com

Submission Guidelines:

Writers:

We may consider publishing your work if it falls into our area of interest. For your information this is:
Interesting / Experimental work.
Work with a vision.

We want to work with essayists and poets and writers who have something to say.

Think William Burroughs; James Joyce; Haruki Murakami; David Mitchell; John Milton; C.J. Jung; Robert Anton Wilson; Philip Pullman; S. Freud.

Is that clear?

If you think this applies to you. Please feel free to send us a synopsis with supporting letter describing your intentions to:

pumpleton@hotmail.com

We will be polite and tell you one way or another.

Artists:

We need artists to produce our book covers. Same guidelines as above really. If we think it suits a piece of work then we'd love to use you.

please make an enquiry to pumpleton@hotmail.com. We will organise a way of our art director seeing your work.

Do not send massive files. We do not have the time to download them. If you send massive files then we will delete them and blacklist you.

Please note:

1. We are a fledgling company. Of course we will pay writers and artists but this will be per copy sold (i.e. we cannot afford to offer four figure advances.)

2. All writers still hold the rights to their work and can withdraw their work at any time.

3. We will take an amount of the profits for ourselves. We will not grow if we do not.

4. Writers get the final say on the final version of all publications (we will not publish openly racist or sexist attacks - we do have brains and a sense of humour/irony - we do not support facists)

5. We will contact you by phone at the first occasion possible if we decide to publish your work. We would like to meet you. We will send you a contract (in simple language) so we both know where we stand.

So now that is out in the open.
We hope to hear from you.
We will be excited to work with you.
Who I'd like to meet:

Thanks so much for your help if you were one of the friends who voted for me. Boy A, my first novel, has now made the short list of 10 for World Book Day’s ‘Book To Talk About 2008.’ I owe a lot to my friends.

Unfortunately all the novels starts the final from scratch, so I really need your support all over again.

Please take a minute to vote. It might well be possible to win it now.

And you can still win stuff just by voting, as well as being kind and thus gaining an instant karma rebate.

http://www. worldbookday. com/spreadtheword is the site

(block off, Ctrl C to cut and then Ctrl V to paste into browser).

You can login with the same username and password as before to vote, or register again; or if it’s for the first time, it honestly only takes 1 minute: Just click ‘register’ then click ‘see the books’ and scroll down until you see my novel 'Boy A' and click ‘vote for this book’, they appear in random order.

Thank you sincerely for your time and solidarity.

Jonathan

DISCIPLINE - By Paco Ahlgren

Jun 20 2007 6:16 PM

Thanks for the add. I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts.

DISCIPLINE IS AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT AMAZON.COM.

This is the fusion of science and spirituality...

“Ahlgren deftly melds the intimacy of one man’s personal journey of self-discovery with cosmic, mind-expanding concepts of quantum physics, time travel, and multiple universes. This stunning and skillfully constructed story is a page-turner that haunts you long after you’ve closed the book. Discipline is a masterful first novel that rivals the works of many more mature authors with dozens of books to their credit. I look forward with delicious anticipation to everything Ahlgren writes in the future."

-- Marie D. Jones, author of PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena.

Writers @ Edit Red

Writers @ Edit Red

Apr 20 2007 7:56 PM

'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.

We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.

To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.

Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.

If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!

Regards
Alan, Sean and Chris
