The Punk Rods formed about five years ago,vocalist Punk Daddy ex-guitar player for seminole punks RIOTSTAR forseen the demise of that band. Years before he and drummer Candy Rotten had a project called FUNHOUSE wich was an first wave punk rock coverband. Covering tunes from the Dead Boys,Stooges,Patti Smith,the Kinks,The yard Birds,Eddie Cochran.Punk Daddy had the name The Punk Rods two years before the band formed. The name came from The Munsters. Candy and Punk Daddy got together and discussed getting back together and the Punk Rods were born! A Short while later at The Corktown The Sam Lawrence FIVE were performing,who also rehearsed at Candy Rotten's. Well one thing led to another and The Hamilton Kid And "Dootes jioned the band, at that time P.D. played guitar and sang, after a while Glen the Hamilton Kid left the band and Punk Rock Lisa jioned on the bass guitar, Lisa added a great vibe, she was very energetic and cute too.We did shows for a couple of years like that " a four piece" Then Neen of Trash Gallery ask to Jion the band. Hey why not Neen is a great Guitar player and also freed Punk Daddy from the guitar to concentrate on vocals.The Punk Rods have Opened for Jayne County,Slyvain Slyvain and the She Wolves"Cycle Slut's" The Forgotten Rebels, D.O.A. Marky Ramone,The Vibrators, Sonny Vincent, the Demolition Doll Rods and a shitload of other great locals. The band has been through some changes in the last couple of years, Lisa Moved to Ottawa, Conrad from Trash Gallery Filled in on bass for a while then he left and along came Lou-Jay then left Neen, Lisa came back,Lou-Jay went on guitar, the one constant in the band has been Dootes, Candy Rotten and Punk Daddy. There's been alot of good times and good parties, if your a good crowd you'll get a good show!!!!!So come on out and have some fun with THE PUNK RODS.
