"The Purple Heart Band" is based in MEDFORD, OREGON. They are a 60's, 70's,& 80's Rock, Funk & Blues cover band re-done in their own way and style, with a few 90's & 2000's thrown into the mix.
They are not new at this they have been playing, all over Oregon & California, doing Fairs, Festivals, Clubs,& Private Parties for 18 yrs. If you haven't seen this band, they put on a really great show, one you won't want to miss!
Sami (lead singer) is known for her wild and raspy side when doing songs like Bad to the Bone, Satisfaction & House of the Rising Son, yet shows her soft side when doing songs like Unchain Melody, and Wicked Games. You often can find her out in the crowd with her portable mic getting them involved in the show. Sami also handles all of the bookings for the band.
Donnie (rhythm guitar) plays beautiful sounding rhythm. He is known for his unique style doing songs like Johnny B Good, and Knockin on Heavens Door. He also can really make his guitar sing using his favorite toy his wah wah pedal. Besides performing he has the hard work setting up all of the equipment & sound for each venue (except the fairs, & festivals).
Gary (lead guitar) is most famous for his slide guitar playing . Gary is very talented, he can also play the banjo, mandolin, keyboards & bass. He is known for his own style of songs like Pony Blues, Mustang Sally, & Green River, just to mention a few.
Tom (bass) is very talented, not only is he a very accomplished player, but he also sings songs like Tush & Some Kind of Wonderful. The Purple Heart Band is is very fortunate in having a fabulous female drummer, Linda Lou ( known for her long locks of hair) is a very gifted drummer , there isn't anything she can't play, she's alot of fun to be around!
When you see "The Purple Heart Band" you will see how much they love playing music, they are always happy and have lot's of fun with each other and the crowd.
The Purple Heart Band had so much fun with all of our friends & Dawn Hatchard from the Mail Tribune, Sat. night July 11th at the Little Brown Jug, in Talent. You all mean so much to us, thanks to all of you for coming out and making our evening complete, you are the BEST!! Irish Hugs to all, Sami
