For decades musicians have been pouring their heart and soul into the art they have created. Creating a sound that moves people is the ultimate goal of any artist. And for the Saint Martinville, LA based band The Pwells, it’s been more than just a goal, it’s a passion, a passion that continues to grow, with each passing day.
Though it’s hard to give into the rising trends of modern day pop culture, The Pwells strive to stick to their roots, good old fashioned rock and roll. Blending such styles as southern rock, grunge, reggae, and alternative rock, The Pwells have found a way to keep audiences coming back for more. The Pwells have been bringing crowds to their feet with up-beat, grooving, fist pumping tunes since February of 2006. In a very short period of time the band has managed to gather a loyal following ready to yell, dance, jump around, and…..PUT THEIR PWELLS IN THE AIR!!
The Pwells have an arsenal of songs filled with variety that can inspire, move, and touch any listener. The song “Disgraced” is a foot stomping, in your face, fiery rock song that makes audiences bob their heads, and come to life no matter what emotions they are feeling inside. “Reggae Love Song” is a reggae styled tune that makes crowds dance, and remember times spent with the one they love. The heart felt song “Smashed” captivates listeners and is an honest testimony to the struggles of everyday life.
Singer/guitarist Ian Bertrand(Jimi & the Flamin' Organ, Smokin' Jesus) bears his soul with heart felt lyrics and guitar licks that audiences don’t just hear, but that they can feel. Bassist Paul Martin(To Rise Above) provides smooth, fresh, vibe that brings the songs to a whole new level. Finally, drummer Steven Durand(Paradox, KiLL romeo) produces an unexpectedly aggressive style of drumming that adds to an already solid rhythm section.
Armed with a high energy stage show, a steadily growing fan base, and an increasing passion for connecting with their audiences, The Pwells are poised to push themselves to the next level. “We want our listeners to come to a show and leave with a smile on their face. Music is endless, and we just want to be remembered as the band that people came out and listened to, and had the time of their lives”, says Bertrand. So come out and see what all the fuss is about. But remember, bring your dancing shoes, get ready to party, and don’t forget………PUT YOUR PWELLS IN THE AIR!!
