“ISSUES” is the long awaited debut release from Gloucestershire based band “The Q”
This double “A” sided limited edition 10” EP was produced by the legendary Vic Coppersmith-Heaven. Paul Weller figures highly in the bands list of influences and it was Vic’s production of The Jam that attracted the band to him. After hearing a demo of the “The Q” in 2007 Vic instantly agreed to produce them and an alliance of ‘old school’ and ‘new school’ was formed.
The “A” side is “Through Your Eyes” – With iconic ’79 revival undertones, “The Q” demonstrate a social awareness in a thumping call for empathy in the modern world. The second track on this side is “She” – set to a Ska like beat the story of a ‘girl about town’, which was inspired by a friend of the band, shows more of the bands influences.

The “AA” side (definitely not a “B” side) kicks off with “Big Issue” – (a track that the magazine with the same name has recently picked up on for a free-be). The acoustics are out here in a track that builds throughout to a climactic finale. The passion behind the song really shines through and once heard, you’ll never look at people you see in the street the same way again.
Last, (but could just as easily have been first), is “Interlude” - featuring some brilliant guitar work and is again lyrically excellent, displaying a talent for capturing those little working class social vignettes and polarising them in three minutes, it's something very few bands can do successfully.
After completing the EP the band were flown to Germany where they were picked up by “Time For Action Records” for this limited edition release. The tracks have received regular airplay on BBC Radio, Mod Radio UK, WBQC & International Radio New York, Radio Rheinwelle Germany and many others, and has been well reviewed in Ireland, The UK, Europe and the States.
Including a double-sided full color inlay sheet, the first 100 copies are hand numbered and on crystal clear vinyl.

An dieser Stelle noch ein paar Infos über die Band: Die Easy Snappers geben bei uns auf der Party ihr Debut, was uns natürlich ein wenig stolz macht, denn was wir von der Band bisher zu Ohren bekamen war weit mehr als höhrenswert. Gespielt wird traditioneller Rocksteady, der ganz im Sinne der Erfinder schön soulig daher kommt, ohne jedoch die gehörige Portion toughness zu vergessen, die dieser Musik so eigen ist. Die Übergänge zum Skinhead-Reggae sind dabei fließend. Unüberhörbare roots der Easy Snappers sind dabei natürlich der gute alte Jamaican Ska....Kurz um: eben kein Hoppel-Ska, der sich um authentisch zu wirken mal schnell das Karnevalshütchen aufzieht, sondern eben eine Band die mit Herzblut bei der Musik ist und diese lebt.

Am 09.01.10 feiern Miss Mal So Mal und der grausige Fund drei Jahre Remmi Demmi Club!
Eingeladen haben wir BEATREVOLVER aus Köln. Vielleicht ein paar Infos zur Band: Beatrevolver gehören wohl zur Speerspitze der deutschen 60´s - und Modbewegung. Und wenn mir da irgend ein Wort einfallen soll, um die Band zu beschreiben, dann ist das wohl das Wörtchen "authentisch". Verglichen wird der Sound der Band oft mit den Small Faces. Mich erinnert Beatrevolver aber eher an die frühen Zombies ( die Orgel macht´s), wobei da eine gehörige Portion Garage beigemischt ist, was dem Ganzen natürlich ein gewisses Punkflair verleiht ( und mit Punk mein ich hier nicht diese MTV-Zirkusnummern aus dem H&M-Katalog), ohne jedoch das nötige Gespür für den richtigen Groove und eingängige Melodien zu verlieren! Kurz: die Band geht live richtig ab und ist wohl genau die richtige Wahl, um unser Dreijähriges zu zelebrieren!!!!
Das Konzert fängt pünktlich um 20.00 Uhr an ( Nachbarn!!!!)
Danach machen wird noch richtig Party mit jeder Menge Northern Soul, Ska, Early Reggae, Beat und Modpunk...
