   About The QP
email The QP The QP website

The QP Intro CD has been nominated for Spiral Earth Awards 2010 "debut" category; Vote Now.

"A fusion of genres, taste and talent in this youthful exciting 'folk-rock' band!"

fRoots “heaps of rhythmic trickery, bags of oomph and crossing of ethnic styles”. The Living Tradition “the sheer verve, energy and commitment that leaps out of the band members”. R2 "splendid album which demonstrates just what a magnificent pleasure folk music can be". SpiralEarth “A stunning blend of folk, jazz, funk, rock and blues”, “It's folk without a safety net”.Maverick “Great young folk group who are destined for the top”.

The QP are seven talented musicians who play an exciting mixture of traditional and original numbers, ranging from acoustic songs to Klezmer influenced folk-rock; Matt Crum (Melodeon, Soprano Saxophone, Keys), Joe Crum (Drums), Will Pound (Harmonica), Laurel McIntosh (Flute), Dan Bones (Guitar, Bass), Susie Bones (Vocals, Whistle), Tim Yates (Bass).

The QP 2008/2009 gig list included the following major UK festivals; Beverley, Bromyard, Ely, Godiva, Warwick, Sidmouth, Spratton, Shrewsbury, Towersey. In December 2008 they released their debut CD "Intro"; To order a CD.

"Forget the “X-Factor”, try the “QP-Factor”. This band rocks!"

"The QP are a young but very professional outfit, I have booked them for Warwick twice and they went down a storm. This could be their year, so book them while they are still available." Dick Dixon, Warwick Folk Festival

"Forget the 'X-Factor', try the 'QP-Factor'. This band rocks!" Keith Donnelly

"I was very impressed by your music. You have a fantastic commitment and attitude to it. It was quite infectious. You have a great raw talent and I am SO looking forward to having you on the big stage at Spratton" Mark Osbourne, Spratton Folk Festival

"The QP gave a fantastic performance. For many in the audience, seeing these talented young musicians in action was a new experience and by the end of the set the QP had them in the palms of their hands. While the English summer rain pounded down outside the marquee, we were enjoying a fantastic party of lively folk-rock and klezmer and some beautiful singing. Definitely a must-see, must-hear band." Pete Willow, Organiser Godiva Festival Folk Concert 2008

"There were hundreds of them - they filled the studio wall to wall and made a damn good noise. I'd book them before they get famous" Genevieve Tudor, BBC Radio Shropshire

"Talented! Young! Good Looking! Bastards!!" Harvey Andrews

"There's a real buzz about this lot. An English Folk/Rock/Jazz/Funk band with the balls to match any. They played a packed house at Warwick last year. Book them but be careful who you follow them with!" Andrew Sharpe, Steamchicken
