Robbo had been sleepless in Fresno for two weeks when he made the perilous drive to San Jose that bright and gooey Saturday in July. Juanus was kickin' it in the rec room at T. Justice Studios strumming an acoustic guitar, waiting for the newly-shorn El Robbo to arrive. Somehwhere in the background, T was warming up the ADAT's, (T is always warming up something!). A jam was in the offing, and you could almost taste the anticipation.
Delivered from that genesis, a collection of 11 eclectic tunes emerged. "5,000 on the Newcomers" has been called "remarkable", "thrilling", "a must-hear", "two ears: way-up!", and some other comments we are not at liberty to expose.
