Gospel Music is noted for its rich heritage of family groups. In keeping with this tradition, The Quicks were formed in 1999 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Tim and Sally Quick sang for many years with a local group while stationed in Florida, and until this year, were joined by their two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca. Now, Tim, Sally and daughter, Rebecca make up this family music ministry.
Tim had always been focused on his Air Force career, but as retirement approached, he began to realize that God had called him into the music ministry. With Sally by his side, he took his family before their church for prayer and The Quick Ministry had begun! When Tim finished his stint in the Air Force in 2002, he moved the family back home to Nashville to pursue a full-time ministry in Gospel music. A commitment to serve the Lord, coupled with a strong family bond, has laid the foundation for this ministry.
The musical blend of this group is mirrored by a closeness in their daily walk with the Lord and with each other. This is a hard-working family that functions as a unit, yet is still free to express their own unique personalities. The talent in this family gives them the ability to capture various styles of music from praise & worship and hymns to southern gospel and big band jazz. That powerful combination of faith and musical diversity unites to allow The Quicks to reach audiences of all ages.
Group Members
Tim Quick - Head of the group and lead singer is Tim Quick. Tim has a very energetic personality and a wonderful sense of humor. Audiences are delighted by his ability to energize a song such as the family's first radio single, "He Can Move the Water." It is that same energy that helped to see their first release make the Singing News Charts in 2005. Diagnosed with a genetic lung disease (Alpha 1 Antitripsyn Deficiency) in the year 2000, Tim has a stirring testimony of the healing power of God! He proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Technical Sergeant after 20 years. When you meet Tim Quick, you've met a friend for life.
Sally Quick - Alto Singer for The Quicks is Tim's wife, Sally. She is tremendously devoted to standing by Tim - together they have worked to raise their daughters, Rachel and Rebecca, in a loving Christian home. Her deep love for her family is fostered further by her deep love for God, which led her to Gospel music and singing God's song when she was very young. At the age of four, she received a guitar as a gift, and as she puts it, was soon "eat up" with music! Her smooth rich alto voice helps provide the foundation for the "Quick" sound. One of the most promising songwriters in the industry today, Sally has a long history of penning songs that encourage, comfort, and reassure people of God's love. Sally writes most of the music you will hear from this family including their radio release, "The Word is Out," found on their CD, "The Word is Out."
Rebecca Quick - Rebecca is one of the biggest Southern Gospel Music fans you will ever meet but you could say the feeling is mutual. In 2007, Rebecca was within the Top 10 nominees for the Southern Gospel Music's 2007 Favorite Young Artist Award. Her genuine love for Gospel music led her to begin singing at an early age. By the time she began to sing organized music in elementary school, Rebecca could already hear and sing harmony. Rebecca has received much recognition and many awards for her vocal ability, including selection for All-State Chorus in Florida and Tennessee. In addition to being a talented vocalist, she is proving to be a talented musician by learning to play the guitar as well as the mandolin. She has a strong singing voice and a knack for playing several instruments just like her mom, but like her dad, "Beck" is quite a character! Rebecca is a student of The Steve Hurst School of Music Ministry.
This young family is having an impact on audiences everywhere they go. Bringing a great message that will uplift and inspire, you will certainly want to hear more from this group.
Luke 2:8-14 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
