About me: Hey everyone, it is the Racing Junky AKA Skip here. I sort of got that name because I love racing, NASCAR and am heavily involved in NASCAR. I operate one of the largest NASCAR websites in the world called, The Racing Daily which used to be racingjunky.com.
I live in the midwest, specifically an area they call the Quad Cities (Moline,Rock Island - Illinois and Davenport,Bettendorf in Iowa). It has a population of about 375,000 people so it it a good sized area. Let's see if there was something really famous about the area you could say that it is the home of John Deere. It is a great place to live, friendly people, easy to get around and has just about everything that you can imagine. I was born, raised and returned to live here.
I graduated from high school in East Moline, went on to the University of Illinois and have a bachelors degree in Public Relations. When I graduated I returned home and became a police officer in the City of East Moline. I had the honor of attending the FBI academy in 1985, took a position as a federal agent in Cleveland, Ohio. Being home sick, I returned to the Quad Cities and finished out my law enforcement career here locally.
I have been single for the last 5 years but because of that, I have made some truly special friends along the road of life who have really made a huge impact on my life.
Sometimes life just throws you a curve and you still have to take a swing at it. If you strike out, well you are out but if you hit it just right, who knows how far you will travel. (That is an original Skippy saying, never heard anywhere before).
Who I'd like to meet:
I have met a lot of people over the course of my lifetime and to be honest there isn't one of them that I regret meeting. I have come to realize that each person that I meet along my road of life are individuals who somehow impact my life in some form or fashion. I want to make the lives of everyone I meet somehow better because that is just the way the world should be. Life is just to short to worry about where they come from, what they look like, how they swing or anything else for that matter. There is no one special I would like to meet because I have met and continue to meet some of the best people on the face of this earth.
