At the age of 16, Amber won a national singing contest where contestants were required to sing the song they had written. Out of the 50 United States only 10 winners were chosen. Each winner received recording time and their song was put on the album of winners along with a famous musician. The winners also performed in concert. The album was titled after Amber’s winning song, “Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way”.
