Kate Bush.............
Indigo Girls...........
Carly Simon........

Much of what inspires me and strikes me is just looking at the world every day and reacting to it.

Sounds Like
There are a load of people I wish I sounded like, especially in the area of guitar playing........I do not consciously attempt to sound like anyone.......but if I had a choice of who I would want to play like, in this order, George Harrison, Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Keith Richards.....Alex De Grassi odd combo but true.
As far as Bass players....I have always been influenced by McCartney and Adam Clayton.
Song writing styles, Carly Simon, The Beatles, The Kinks, Kate Bush
__Whether anything I do ever sounds like any of these people, I have no idea, but hence my statement, people I wish I sounded like....
Again there are loads more, but this is what immediately came into my muddled mind.
I record and play what I write with some really wonderful musicians both local and not so local, all listed on my page. Open Mics are my most likely setting although every so often I actually -play- some place other than an open mic, which I will list above. I think the Open Mic venues are wonderful and I am amazed by the great talent and diversity I hear and see and certainly the people I have met. I am grateful to the shops and venues that open their doors to open mic-ers keep it up, I am having a great time.

Greetings from Sussex, and I thank you for adding my name to your list of "friends." Perhaps you will be interested to hear that my literary agent, Ms King, has cajoled me into participating in a program she is calling "Fifteen Weeks of Bees," which will tie together the fifteenth anniversary of our first collaboration, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, and the publication of our newest venture in May, The Language of Bees. Appropriately, "Fifteen Weeks" will join my efforts on MySpace with hers on her web site and blog. Please join us starting on February 1.
