As one of— if not the—most unadulerated country bands on the entire REVERBfest bill, the Rainieros offer up honky tonk country music like real cowboys drink whiskey: straight up. They play lots of songs about drinking, and your wife being pissed at you for drinking, and there's nothing alt-, pop-, or fusion- about it. It's a straight up five-piece with a pedal steel and a steel guitar, both standard in country bands. No gimmicks here; just country music. And that's just fine by me. And so far's I know, you can only experience the beauty of the Rainieros live, because they do not have any wares for sale on the Internet, nor do they have a recorded album. That will change soon, but in the meantime, you'll just have to show up in person...see? Told ya this is old school. SARA BRICKNER - The Seattle Weekly
One thing I noticed during some recent travels is that other areas in the United States aren't blessed with the great selection of independent radio that we have hear in the Pacific Northwest. I was able to share these stations with some of my new friends out there in American and around the world and they all really enjoyed finding out about these resources. Here's the list I shared of stations/shows that play music that has inspired us.. as well as new bands/peers making great music today. Theys stations also have great programs featuring folk music, reggae, world music, jump blues, soul, etc, etc... check them out.. sorry for anyone I missed but I didn't want to go on forever.. some of it you'll have to discover on your own -

Had so much fun hanging out you all. I'll be back soon to visit again. Sorry you'll miss Hillbilly Fest, except for Greg that is. Maybe next year. Either way keep in touch.
3 years ago my mother was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. At that time, like most people, I had only "heard of" Lou Gehrig's Disease but had no idea what it was. Today, my mother's only got 2 weeks to 2 months left to live. She's lost her speach & ability to move 90% of her body while her brain remains fully thinking and emotional.
Please help me raise the world's awarness of ALS while making a few bucks to help find a cause/cure.
Rock Out ALS is a 12 band, 12 hour All AGES show for a Suggested Donation of only $5.00
