The Ralphs are relatively new to the music scene but have already notched up an impressive run of gigs and are making a name for themselves in the West since forming in November 2008. From the music rich town of Tuam, Co.Galway, they are born out of the ashes of lead singer Jamie Ralph's solo project, 'Pogo Jamie'. He is now joined by brother Leigh on drums, and their cousin Conor on lead guitar. The recruitment of best friend Brian Ruane on bass has completed a foursome intent on writing energetic and catchy indie/rock'n'roll songs.
'The Bus Song', which chronicles the ups and downs of trip on a Bus Eireann bus has received extensive airplay on i102-104, while a debut double a-side single, 'Waste of Time/Gunfire' got it's release in August 2009. Their bouncy track 'Electricity' has been labelled 'infectious' by the Connacht Tribune. The Ralphs have shared the stage with the likes of The Saw Doctors, Delorentos, Ham Sandwich, The Flaws, Noelie McDonnell and ex-Revs frontman Rory Gallagher since their incarnation.
So I take it if your name is Jamie, you ought to be the shame to the Ralph family,,? Unlesss I've just transgressed the obvious, that you don't all have the exact same first name, and that Ralph is, infact, your surname? Have I cracked the mystery of the band's history? I'd prefer if you weren't brothers and that all the boys by the the same name were simply attracted to one and other (no innuendo intended, I mean as friends,,,!) And, yes, I must confess I am a wee bit obsessed with the Maccabees, I'm possibly even a massiv(er) fan than you my main man!! X

Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet.
To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you.
We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV this week with the full line up. There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
